Sitting in front of my loom watching a piece take form inspired me to explore new areas of weaving. I began weaving jewelry using a blend of silk threads, natural stones, and glass beads and discovered a freeform and imaginative style. I find that once I start a new project, the materials take on a life of their own and often change with each pass of the needle. My inspiration comes from nature. The wildflowers and sunsets provide an endless array of color, while the shapes and textures of the land provide depth and dimension. I enjoy the challenge of finding just the right combination of color and texture that excites the senses. Whether I’m designing an organic earth-tone wrap of natural stones or weaving a whimsical cuff of hand-painted silks, my goal is always to create a piece of beauty that will be appreciated and enjoyed by many.
